Assemblies

The word of God through the Seventh Day Church of God (Reformed) Inc is preached throughout its 26 Assemblies in Jamaica, 2 in the United States and 1 in London.

ST. Andrew

Headquarters

The history of the Church of God is, to a great extent hinged on the life of one – Brother Hixroy Joseph Waugh, whom God has laid His hand upon. He was a man of affairs, a father of a family, and with great responsibilities. Intensely practical. He was no giant in stature, far from being strong: but God saw something in him that overpowered these physical weaknesses; namely – the innate quality of a Spiritual Leader.

Brandon Hill

The Brandon Hill Assembly in St Andrew, Jamaica, West Indies, came into being as a result of a divine revelation from the Lord that “The field is ripe, send fifty (50) strong”. A campaign was then launched which included an open-air meeting in the Brandon Hill Square.

Mountainview

The Mountain View Assembly, located in Kingston Jamaica West Indies began in 1976, thus fulfilling a prophecy which came to the church at 20 East Road in the early sixties that there would be another church in Kingston.

ST. Mary

Albion Mountain

In the year 1961, the Albion Mountain Assembly in St Mary, Jamaica, West Indies was born out of a desire by a group of six (6) persons to learn more about what God required for one to be saved, including the formula for baptism. This group which was headed by Bro. Claudius Edwards prayed and waited patiently for the dawn of the day when the ‘full truth’ would be revealed.

Dean Pen

The Dean Pen Assembly is located two miles from the town of Highgate in St. Mary, Jamaica, West Indies on a plot of land which was donated by Mrs Pearle Cameron, and her daughter Mrs Hermalyn Sterling (now Deaconess).

The donation of the land was in keeping with a request made by the late husband and father of these two women who had asked that after his death the land be donated to the “true church”. It was after thirty years that his family became acquainted with the Seventh Day Church of God (Reformed) which, in their estimation, represents what he was looking for.

Fellowship Hall

The Fellowship Hall Assembly, located in St Mary, Jamaica West Indies, began after a group of fifteen (15) individuals who were associated with another church, were left without a minister due to drastic changes in the doctrine of baptism. The group was however, determined to contend for the faith once delivered to the saints.

ST. Ann

Clover Hill

“Build me a sanctuary that I may meet with My people”. This command was given by God to His servant, Overseer Pastor Hixroy J. Waugh and his wife Sis. M. Waugh in the early stages of their Ministry.

In carrying out this command, a church was built in the district of Clover Hill St Ann, Jamaica, West Indies in the year 1962. This structure is situated on land bought from Mr & Mrs Long.

Great Pond

The Great Pond Assembly in St. Ann, Jamaica began when Elder Harold Peart, upon receiving a call from God to a greater light, left his former place of worship along with his family and the Gilmore family and began holding prayer meetings at the Gilmores’ home.

The number grew until it became necessary to relocate to the Pearts’ residence and later to a temporary structure on land made available by Deacon Gilmore, where they continued to worship.

Grierfield

The Grierfield Assembly which is situated in St. Ann, Jamaica West Indies, is a five-minute drive west of the Moneague Police Station and approximately seven minutes from the Moneague Community Centre.

In 1976, one Brother Davis, his wife, and Elder Harold Peart started house-to-house visits in the community of Grierfield with the intent to win souls. Shortly thereafter, open-air meetings were held in the town centre as well as at other locations.

St. D'Acre

The St D’Acre Assembly, located in St Ann, Jamaica West Indies came into being after Sister Vyreta Benain, who was a member of the Kingston church, returned to her hometown in that district.  After returning home, she began worshipping at the Great Pond Assembly but had the desire to have the Good News spread in her hometown.

Roadside

The Roadside Assembly located in St Ann, Jamaica West Indies, was established after Mr Cecil Hayden invited his friend Mr Joseph Wright to his wedding, and later invited him to a special service at Headquarters.

During this special service, the Lord spoke through Sister Merita Waugh to send ‘fifty (50) strong’ to Roadside, to hold a Street meeting. This Street meeting was held in River Head District after which Mr Joseph Wright answered the call of God.  On September 13, 1970, Brother Joseph Wright and Sister Ruby Wallace were immersed into the Body of Christ.

Pimento Walk

The Pimento Walk Assembly located in St Ann, Jamaica West Indies was established on the invitation of Sister Veda Walsh, a member of the Clover Hill Assembly, who had relocated to the Pimento Walk area. Pastor Harold Peart and his team from the Great Pond Assembly often visited with her and held prayer meetings at her house. As time progressed, it became necessary for further evangelism, so on March 6, 1977, an open-air meeting was held. This meeting was a success, as persons who had a desire to have their souls saved, came for prayer.

Trelawny

Friendship

The Friendship Assembly located in Trelawny, Jamaica West Indies, began in the year 1975, when a group of brethren from Kingston led by Overseer Waugh visited the District of Wakefield, Trelawny and held an evangelistic meeting.

ST. Catherine

Lemon Hall

The Lemon Hall Assembly is in the parish of St Catherine, Jamaica. Bordering Lluidas Vale and Point Hill, the Assembly is in a valley which is only accessible by foot.

On Sunday, November 26, 1996, a group of Ministers and members travelled to Lemon Hall to hold an open-air meeting for the first time.  As they journeyed, they sang the hymn “Take the Name of Jesus with you”.  As if by divine revelation, Pastor Leeford Dennis pointed to a spot of land and declared that the future church would be erected there. This word became ‘flesh’ as five years later, with the help of Pastors Dennis and Baker, along with other brethren, the church building was erected at the very spot. Although many delays were experienced, the work of God could not be deterred.

Point Hill

The Point Hill Assembly located in St Catherine Jamaica West Indies, was birthed in 1967 when Deaconess Wright started hosting prayer meetings in her house with her family. This little family was later joined by the families of the Robbs, Francis and Wellingtons as the Lord called His servants. She was described as the “clap hand lady” and hence the group was nicknamed the “clap hand church”.

Deaconess Wright, in her quest to find an established organisation to adopt her little group, sought the Lord diligently. Before long, the Lord sent the answer to her prayer through Deaconess Whyte, who had recently relocated to Point Hill. She was previously introduced to the Seventh Day Church of God (Reformed) by a member and was interested to have a branch in her community.

Springvale

The Springvale Assembly located in St Catherine, Jamaica West Indies, began in 1988 when Deaconess Kelly, who after getting married migrated from Roadside to Springvale to live with her husband.  While in Springvale, she asked of Overseer, Pastor Hixroy Joseph Waugh, that a branch of the church be established in that community.

Tydixon

The Tydixon Assembly located in St Catherine Jamaica West Indies, started in the year 1970 when brethren from the Clover Hill Assembly began conducting evangelistic meetings in the community. A few persons readily accepted the Gospel message and joined in worshipping at the Clover Hill church.

The Amos’ family in Tydixon, later made their home available to hold worship services for the small group which included members of the Clunie, McLean and Haye families. Many other persons, including brethren from Headquarters (20 East Road) visited from time to time and shared in the fellowship.

Portland

Manchioneal

The Manchioneal Assembly, in Portland, Jamaica West Indies came into existence after Mr Vivian Mayne saw an advertisement in the Sunday Gleaner of January 19, 1975. This advertisement had been placed based on a revelation from the Lord that the upcoming baptism at 20 East Road on January 26, 1975, should be published in that manner.

St. thomas

White Horses

The White Horses Assembly, located in St Thomas, Jamaica West Indies came into existence after the Lord through His servant Sister Merita Waugh (in 1974), informed the Palmer’s family that the Church would one day be in St Thomas. They took God at His word and waited for the fulfillment.

Clarendon

New Ground

The New Ground Assembly, located Clarendon, Jamaica West Indies, came into existence in the early 1970s, after brethren from Headquarters held a street meeting in Summerfield, Clarendon.

The Rumble sisters visited the meeting and were blessed. Among other things, they admired the uniform worn by the sisters of the church. At the end of the service, they requested that studies be held with them.  The invitation was accepted and shortly after, the church visited their home one Sabbath and had discussions with them on how God should be served.  During the discussions, the sisters invited the brethren to continue to worship at their house, this they did for some time.

Seven Heights

The May Pen Assembly in Clarendon Jamaica West Indies began when Sister Johnson, who resided in England for a time, returned to Jamaica.  On her return, she along with other persons from her community in Seven Heights, attended services at Headquarters, 20 East Road, where she previously worshipped

Westmoreland

Strathbogie

The Strathbogie Assembly located in Westmoreland, Jamaica West Indies came into existence after Brother Ewart Morris, while living in Grierfield, St Ann, informed the Leader of the Church, that the Lord told him that He was sending him to the West.

After some years, Brother Morris relocated to Savanna-la-Mar in Westmoreland, and while there, he met Sister Pearline Barnett who was originally from Strathbogie but was in fellowship at the Roadside Assembly in St Ann. While sharing with her his experience of the call to move to the West, she also shared with him her calling while in the Bahamas. She recounted how the Lord told her to return to Jamaica where He had work for her to do. With a common purpose therefore and in obedience to the Lord, both Brother Morris (who later became Deacon) and Sister Barnett (who later became Deaconess) started witnessing to and praying for people in the area.

Manchester

Chantilly

The Chantilly Assembly located in Manchester, Jamaica West Indies, was established in 2010, sometime after Pastor James Spencer and a relative had a casual discussion (in 2008) as to whether an unused portion of land belonging to the Spencer family would be suitable for a church. This discussion was, however, on a relatively light note, as that plot of land was never really considered by all concerned, for use in that way.

ST. James

Latium

The Latium Assembly, located in St James, Jamaica West Indies, began in the year 1966 in the house of Sister Florence Allen and family after she had received the Sabbath Message, through her son Brother Kenly Spence who had been a member at 20 East Road. She was then joined by Sister Phyllis Davis and her family, the Brackett’s family, and other families in the community.
