Assemblies

Friendship

The Friendship Assembly located in Trelawny, Jamaica West Indies, began in the year 1975, when a group of brethren from Kingston led by Overseer Waugh visited the District of Wakefield, Trelawny and held an evangelistic meeting.

A number of persons signaled their intention to follow the Lord after a stirring message from the Overseer.  Brethren from Kingston continued to visit on Sabbaths and services were held in the Community Centre. Thereafter, they began to conduct services in the Walters’ home, until a plot of land was purchased, and a temporary structure was erected.

The first baptismal rite was performed in early 1976 and seven (7) persons were immersed.

In the year 1979, the present Sanctuary was erected and later dedicated.  Over the years, as the church continued to seek souls for the Lord, Ministers were assigned by Headquarters to manage the activities.

The Church is currently led by Pastor Trevor Hyde.
