Surely there have been times in your life when you felt like you were going nowhere. Some call it, “Spinning your wheels.” We’ve been there and we’re sure everyone reading this letter has been also. You might ask, “Why are they writing this?” The answer is simple. There are times everyone needs encouragement. Today, it may be you or it may be someone else, but we know the Lord is telling us to write this. A young lady just walked into our office and she definitely needed encouraging. She’s just about at the end of her rope and when she gets there she’ll find that her only hope is Jesus. We told her each of God’s Children has to hit the wall at some time in their life. When we hit the wall, we understand that we have used up all of our Aces in the hole and our only hope is God. When you have no one to turn to, but God, that’s when He steps in. We told her to continue on her walk, because she hadn’t hit the wall yet. She looked astonished at what we were saying. She will not change until she hits rock bottom. People don’t want to hear this, but it’s the truth. Our guess is, the Lord had this on our minds, preparing us to minister to her. When a person gets to the point they recognize the reason they’re in a valley is because they have been following their flesh. Then they can change. They’ve allowed their flesh to get stronger than their Spirit man. The Bible tells us, “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” When a person lays out of church, quits praying and stops reading their Bible their Spirit man weakens. Then temptations start appearing and they fall into temptation. It’s a continuous battle between a person’s flesh and their Spirit. You must remember, your Soul is your feelings and your Spirit is your knowledge or intellect. This is why fasting is so great for a Christian. When you fast, you’re denying your flesh of what it desires and needs to grow stronger. This also places you in the will of God and causes your inner man to grow stronger. This allows you to overcome temptations easier. You may recall, several people in the Bible fasted. Jesus fasted forty days and forty nights, so did Moses and Joshua. Daniel fasted 21 days in order to get his answer. We must make certain that we are in God’s will and that we remain there, if we are to have our victory. If you’re discouraged, simply fast a few meals, pray, read your Bible and seek God’s face. †
Placing Our Trust In God
In Psalms 37:3-5 the Bible says, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” As we wake up, everyday, we can see more and more violence happening everywhere. If there’s ever been a time, in our lives, that we’ve seen a greater need for God’s people to place their trust in Him, it’s now. It’s getting so, that if you don’t place your trust in God, it’s dangerous to even go to the grocery store or the mall. God is our refuge when we truly trust Him. He will never allow anything to harm us as long as we are in His will. God will allow things to happen in our lives to get our attention if we fail to follow Him and obey His Word. We’ve seen disasters happen in family’s lives and they just don’t understand why. If they would just take a close look at where they are spiritually and how they are living, they might be able to understand. This doesn’t mean that Christians that are doing their very best to live for the Lord, will not see disasters in their lives. Christians are often tried by temptations and trials to test their faith. God wants to see if we’re serious about trusting Him. Do we have lip service or heart service? We say all of this, because things are going to get worse, on earth, before we’re called out to meet Jesus. We pray that you have heart knowledge and heart service. †
Listen
“The people are hearing, but they’re not listening.” Have you heard the old saying, “They can’t see the forest for the trees?” This is what’s happening across this country now. We’re ministering to millions every week and we’re making a difference. We’re seeing sinners get saved and many lives are being changed, but it’s not like it should be. People are hearing the Word, but they aren’t listening to what it actually says. God isn’t going to continually allow those living in sin to disregard His warnings. At some point in time, He will issue judgment and it will be horrible for those that will not listen. We’re going to keep sending out warnings, by the grace of God and with your help. It cost tens of thousands of dollars to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. We don’t know where or when you were saved, but we do know someone had to spend money to get the message to you. We cannot lead the entire world to Christ, but we can warn them that they must be born again to see and enter the Kingdom of God. (John 3:3-5) If you haven’t yet, please join with us and let’s lay our treasures up in Heaven. You support us (the ministry) and we’ll be the mouth piece that tells the sinners to repent.
