When we talk about true faith we must understand how faith is measured. In Hebrews 11:8 God’s Word says, “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and went out, not knowing whither he went.” Can you imagine being at home with your family, having all of your friends living close by and hearing the voice of God telling you to move into a strange land? Now, He tells you to leave all of your relatives behind and He will bless you abundantly. This would be hard to do even if you knew something about the place you were moving to. Can you imagine how Abraham and Sara must have felt? The Bible goes on to tell us in Verse 9, “By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.” By this time, he has two sons Isaac and Jacob with him and they are living in tents. Abraham was still looking for a promise that he had not yet seen. In Verse 10 we find, “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” Abraham found that city, even though he never laid his natural eyes upon it while he lived here on this earth. He trusted his God to be able to deliver that which he had promised. We learn in Verse 13, “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.” Friends, we may never see the true beauty of the New Jerusalem with our natural eyes while we’re here on this earth, but we can know without doubt that the God that has promised us eternal life will definitely deliver that which He has promised. Jesus paid our sin debt and has gone to prepare a place for each one of us that has been saved by His precious Blood, leaving us this promise in John 14:1-3, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself: that where I am, there ye may be also.” We don’t know the day nor the hour that He will come for us, but we are waiting and looking daily for His return. Each day, we’re getting closer to moving into our new home and we know it’s going to be spectacular, because it has been built by God and decorated by Jesus. True faith is simply believing for that which cannot be seen by your natural eyes. †
Are We Obedient?
Do we read? Do we pray? Do we understand? These are questions we all need to ask ourselves. We often wonder how many people even read their Bibles, much less pray and study God’s Word. We are commanded to study to show ourselves approved. Paul writes in II Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” God’s Holy Word is so inspiring, uplifting and motivating. When you’re feeling disgusted or down, you can reach for God’s Word and after reading a few scriptures, you realize that you are blessed. The same is true with prayer. We know there are times in our lives, when it seems the load is heavier than we can bear, but as we begin calling out to God, in the name of Jesus, with prayer and praise, the load gets lighter and lighter. Then, we hear so many say, “I wish I had a better understanding of the Holy Bible.” Our advise to everyone is this. When you read, pay attention to the words you are reading. Was there a time, in your life, that you could sit and read an entire chapter in the Bible and after you had finished, you could not tell someone one single thing about what you had read? To get a better understanding, we have to concentrate on each word in the sentence and question why it’s there. This is all part of studying the Bible. James tells us in James 1:5, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” God will give anyone that asks, wisdom to understand His Word. Understanding the Holy Bible is very easy with God’s anointed wisdom. It doesn’t matter how hard you’ve tried to understand the Bible in the past, just ask believing and God will give you the understanding you need to see you through. Since there’s no end to the wisdom, He will give, we’ve been asking for more everyday for years. The Word says, “And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Luke 11:9 There are many things, we think Christians take for granted and feel that they should automatically receive when they are saved. That’s not exactly correct and it’s surely not the way it works. Jesus tells us all through the Word to ask His Father, in His name, for the things we need and His Father will give them to us. Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding fall into this same category. We have not, because we ask not. We hope if you are lacking in any of these areas, you will ask God (believing) and receive those things you need. †
Hallelujah Night
As most know, every October 31st, we celebrate Halloween with our Hallelujah Night Festivities. We have indoor games for the kids, our traditional hayride and of course, all the hotdogs one can eat. It’s all free and every child will receive a generous bag of candy. We ask everyone to dress up in costumes to make it more fun for the kids and adults but ask to keep their costumes in Biblical or humorous fashion if possible. Please invite your neighbor’s kids to attend and if possible please bring them with you. The festivities will begin at 6 PM and be over at 8:30 PM since it’s a school night. We hope you will plan to attend and bring the entire family. †
Our Offer This Month
The best offer we can give is advice and prayer. We’re simply going to ask everyone receiving this letter to test the spirit, try God and see if He will do that which He promised. We know good Christian people that are cursing themselves, their families and their households, because of their unwillingness to trust God at His Word. Each of us has to take that, which God has blessed us with and use a portion of it to do His will. Some of you have found that what we are saying is absolute fact. You’ve been sending your Tithes and Offerings to this outreach and God is blessing you abundantly. Friends, this is His Storehouse. Souls are saved every week, the hungry are fed daily, and God’s Children are always blessed. Malachi 3:10, Luke 6:38 †
