Christ knew, from the beginning, that once we accepted Him as our Saviour, that we would be in a battle. The Holy Spirit directed the Apostle Paul to warn us to be prepared. Every morning we need to dress for warfare. We need to be fully clothed having the whole armor of God on our temples. We know that the devil is going to come at us with all his powers of this world, but when we are obedient to God’s Word, we will surely be well prepared. This is why Jesus told the disciples that, “The gates of hell will not prevail against it,” speaking of His church and children. Matthew 16:18 We, as the body of Christ, are not to stand still waiting for the enemy to come to us, but we are to take the offensive and destroy the enemy with the Word of God. We feel that far too many Christians are sitting on the stool of do-nothing looking for words to whine, weep and have a pity party with. If we would use the same time and energy praising the Lord for our blessings as we do complaining about our problems, the problems would disappear. Knowing that it’s freezing outside, you would never plan a day outside only half dressed. Neither would you send those you love out into the elements half clothed. We know the enemy is loosed and is all around seeking to destroy God’s Children, therefore we need to arise with power of God and the Word that He has given us, which is our offensive weapon. A football player would never go into a game without the proper protective gear, because common sense tells him that the other players are wearing protective gear and they are prepared to attack him. The enemy has his mess together, but God has given us a more powerful protective gear. He has given us weapons to stop Satan in his tracks and back him up. We don’t have to be of the defensive side when we are guaranteed victory when we use the equipment God has provided for us. In Ephesians 6:11-17, we learn of this important clothing we are to wear daily. In Verse 12, we learn who our enemy is. This is not a football game where we are wrestling with fleshly men. This is a spiritual battle and it will continue until we stand our ground and use our tools to defeat the enemy. In Verse, 14, we learn that we’re not to turn and run from the enemy, but we are to stand. However, we are to know the truth, through and through. We’re to have total confidence in Jesus Christ and His ability to keep us now that He has purchased us with His precious Blood. We also learn that our hearts are to be protected by our righteous living. We’re to strive daily to live according to God’s Word and obey His every command. God didn’t save us to be fearful wimps, but we are to be prepared to advance forward into battle. We’re to storm the gates. In Verse 16, we know that the enemy will be firing at us and God has assured us that when we truly believe His Word, we have a shield of faith placed around us and nothing can penetrate this shield. We want you to notice in this Verse that it says, “Above all.” This is our most important defense from the enemy. If you’re in the military and the Army has tested and proven a shield of metal that will stop all bullets that the enemy will fire at you, you will then have peace, knowing that as long as you remain behind the shield, nothing can harm you. The shield of faith, Paul is speaking of, has been tested, proven and is guaranteed to stop every bullet or any form of ammunition the enemy will send your way. Since the principalities are in high places, the Lord has given us protection for our minds. The helmet is for the head’s protection and the head contains the mind. Satan comes at God’s Children so many times, messing with their minds. He starts by telling them they aren’t saved and that God doesn’t care about them. Those that have only mind knowledge of Christ usually fall for this trick and give up. However, those that have true heart knowledge of Christ, know their salvation is not only in their minds, but in their hearts also. Therefore, no matter what the enemy tries to tell them, they are protected by their true knowledge of their salvation. We also learn in Verse 17, of our only offensive weapon, which is the Word of God or our sword of the spirit. God commands us to study His Word to show ourselves approved. Can you honestly stand before God today and claim yourself approved? We all know that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. When we know the Word, the enemy cannot deceive us with his lies. When Christ was tempted in the wilderness by Satan, He used the Word to back the devil down and drive him away. He has given us this valuable weapon and permission to use it as needed. God commands us to pray always in the spirit. Verse 18. We clothe ourselves everyday before we leave the house. Let’s make certain that from this day forward we never leave home half naked. Let’s be sure we are fully clothed with the whole armor of God. †
Offer this Month
Our offer this month is a four hour teaching on the complete Book of Esther. This teaching is on 4 CD’s and it’s one of the most exciting teachings Pastor Bibey has done. Esther is one book that every Christian needs to study. God had a plan from the time He sent Nebuchadnezzar’s soldiers into Jerusalem to capture the princess of the royal blood line, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, Mordecai and others. Each of these had a duty to perform, so that we could better understand our purpose in life. This teaching will bring out certain points that many have never considered. We urge you to order your set of 4 CD’s on the Book of Esther and then sit down and listen to them. We’re offering this teaching for a love gift of $40.00 or more to the ministry. All money goes to help the less fortunate and to win souls. Please be as generous as possible when giving.
