Our Pastor

Pastor Melvin L. Kindle

Superintendent Melvin L. Kindle is the Pastor and founder of the Higher Heights Deliverance Church of God in Christ. In 1998 while serving as an Associate Minister at Christ Community Temple Church of God in Christ, under Bishop William L. Harper, Jr, during the January consecration, he felt led of the Lord to plant a church, and founded Higher Heights Deliverance COGIC. Supt Kindle answered the call and the Lord let him know this would be a place where deliverance would transform people of all walks of life. Supt. Kindle is married to First Lady Beverly Dorris Kindle and they have two children Stephanie Palmer grands (Lauren and Alexis) and Nicholas and Teressa Kindle grand (Jayden).  He was blessed to purchase the church in its current location 2127 California Ave. STL 63104.

He is the son of Louis and Anne Kindle and has three sisters. He resides from Columbus, Ohio. Supt. Kindle is a proud alumni of The Ohio State University Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio where he received his B.S.  After serving in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant he relocated to Chicago for a position with Johnson and Johnson.  He was saved in 1975 under the leadership of his father in law Supt. Robert Dorris at Prayer Tower COGIC, Joliet, IL. It was during this time he was enrolled at the University of Chicago for his MBA and received it in 1976.  While working in Corporate America he had the opportunity to work for several Fortune 500 companies and relocated to various cities in the USA. His first move to St. Louis was in 1985 and was instrumental in helping to bring cable TV into St. Louis city when he was the General Manager for City Cable Company. During these years he had the opportunity and privilege to serve under several pastors and bishops in the Church of God in Christ. He was called to preach in Rochester, NY while serving at Power House COGIC under Supt. Henry Newkirk. He returned to St. Louis in 1993 and continued to serve till he began pastoring. He has served churches in a variety of positions including Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Supt., YPWW Teacher, Assistant Church Secretary, Deacon, Jr. Pastor, and Assistant Pastor, Brotherhood President and Chief Financial Officer of EMFJ to name a few.

Most importantly, Supt. Kindle loves praying, preaching, and teaching the word and doing whatever he can do to advance the kingdom. He has a heart for souls and is excited to lead his congregation, Higher Heights Deliverance COGIC, to make a positive impact on the City of St. Louis by creating an atmosphere where the gifts operate and all people can come, grow, worship and experience the miracle working power of God.
