BISHOP HORACE L. CHAMBERS

Born, raised and educated in the small town of Badin, North Carolina, Bishop Horace Chambers comes equipped with that “southern hospitality.” He was called into the ministry in the early 70’s and received instructions and guidance from great former pastors, such as the late Bishop Ninious Randall, Bishop Roy Washington and the late Bishop Elleree Coney. He climbed up the ranks of leadership in the Church of the Living God to his present status as Bishop.

In June of 2000, Bishop Chambers was appointed as Senior Pastor of the Philadelphia Band #1 branch of the Church of the Living God and has continued to lead with love and dedication.

In June of 2001 Bishop Chambers graduated from the Trinity School of Enlightenment where he received additional training necessary to pastor the flock of God.

In 2006 Bishop Chambers was appointed to work the ministry in the state of Delaware and in being obedient to the Spirit of God he was redirected to the Philadelphia area where he was called as the founding Pastor of “New Jerusalem” COTLG. He is the visionary and founder of a summer overnight youth camp known as “Camp Trinity”.

He is active in the community and serves as a member of the Philadelphia Police Clergy. Bishop Chambers is a humble man with a big heart, courage, integrity and a sound vision. He loves to rejoice and praise the Lord and believes in doing things God’s Way, speaking God’s Language. He lovingly serves and cares for his church family as he dedicates his life to God teaching, preaching and reaching lost souls.

Pastor and First Lady Chambers were married on April 8, 1972, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. To this union were born three lovely children: Karlita, Mykena, and Curtis. Together they worked to raise their children in the fear of God, to worship the Lord and to love one another.

Bishop Chambers was the fourth, and next to the last child born to Horace and Gertrude Chambers. He has three sisters and one deceased brother, two special brothers and sister’s in-law, 2 sons-in-law, 2 grandchildren and many other relatives who are very special to him. Bishop Chambers firmly believes that a family that prays together stays together. His first sermon and favorite saying is “Don’t doubt God”.
