2021 Volume 30 Issue 12 “Christians Missing In Action”

As the coming of the, “Day of the Lord” gets closer, we are seeing very few Christians standing on the Battlefield. More and more are missing in action. It’s sad to say, but it seems easier for Christians to compromise with the world than to take a strict stand for what’s right. We are so glad that Jesus didn’t compromise with His flesh the night before He gave His life for our sins. He knew the suffering He would have to face and the ultimate price He would have to pay. Jesus could see beyond the circumstances surrounding Him and He saw us. He knew how it would be in the latter days and He was willing to stay on the Battlefield for us. Today, we see Christians turn tail and run when the least bit of resistance comes their way. If they could only understand, when you draw closer tot he Lord, the fire will be turned up. We are asking you to stand with us in these last days and pray for our nation, our leaders and for the Ministry. Pray that we stay on the Battlefield and fight the enemy until Jesus comes.

The Early Church

Are we wrong to think and believe that the Church should be run, managed and directed by the Holy Spirit? We know that the Lord has appointed some pastors, teachers, evangelist and preachers, but shouldn’t man seek God’s will in all matters and allow the Holy Spirit to direct every decision? Shouldn’t we simply us the Holy Bible, which contains God’s Word, to be the Government of the Church? Isn’t this why God gave the anointed instructions for Church Government and doctrine to Paul? Our Church has stood through many storms of time, without a deacon board to make decisions on what is preached and whose to preach it. Every man does the job of a deacon, which is to show the love of Christ to everyone. We don’t have pulpit committees or finance committees. In twenty four years, we’ve only had one incident where a group of three or four men wanted to take over and make all the decisions. We simply prayed to God and asked for help, He moved those men out of the Church and we never had to say a word. God wants to run His house and that’s why the early Church flourished so. Do you remember when men tried to tell Peter and John how and what to preach? The story is in Acts 4:18-20, 18.”And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. 20. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” Man tried to interfere with the Gospel form the very beginning. We have pastors, today, that have to preach that which pleases their congregations, rather than to preach that which pleases God. Not only are they commanded by man to stay within certain realms, but they are threatened by certain committees of the Church of losing their jobs. There are two at fault here. First, the people on the committee will stand before God and be held accountable. The will suffer loss here and hereafter. Second, the pastors that allow man to tell them what to preach shouldn’t be holding the position of pastor in the first place. They also will be held accountable. Our view may be far fetched, but we may be the only ones left that still have faith in the Holy Ghost’s capability to deliver the message that God wants preached to His people and to the world.

Make Me a Little Cake

The Lord has said, that many of His people were as the woman of Zarepath found in Kings 17:9. She was in despair, not knowing what to do, because of the circumstances around her. She was throwing up her hands and giving up. She had no where to go and no one to turn to. She was desperate, she was preparing for her and her son to die, but God had a plan for her, just as He has one for you and me. He sent His servant Elijah to rescue the woman and her son. There was a drought in the land and water was very scarce, but when the man of God asked for a drink of water, the woman didn’t hesitate to give it. Then he asked for a cake and bread and the woman told him, “As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat and die.” and Elijah said unto her, “Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make thee and thy son. For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, the barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.” There is an important message in this scripture that each of us need to pay close attention to. We must take what little we have and be obedient to God’s Word in order for God to sustain us through the hard times. God requires obedience and rewards accordingly. The woman was obedient and did as the man of God requested. The Bible says, they did eat many days, which is believed to be close to a year until the rain came. When we are obedient, He blesses us in every way thinkable.
