2021 Volume 30 Issue 23 “The River”

The River

I remember when I was younger, I would stand on the river bank and watch the ripples of the water as they passed by.  Being raised on a farm, I was used to being around ponds all my life.  Our main farm pond consist of about three acres and of course the water always just lay still.  I would swim and fish in the pond every summer, but as I got older I ventured to the near by river and it intrigued me to see the water moving so quickly as it passed by.  It’s as the Lord is showing me how that river compares to our lives today.  Some years ago, I stood on the river bank and watched the water pass by.  It had a final destination to reach and it was headed for that destination.  Along the way, there would be many different courses it would have take to reach it’s destination.  The water that was in front of me, at that time, had already traveled many miles just to be there where it was at that given time.  Looking at the overall picture, we know that the final destination for most, if not all, rivers is the ocean.  Of all the water that was in front of me that day, some would make it to the final destination, which would be the Atlantic Ocean several hundred miles away, as a river would run.  Part of the water would evaporate, become clouds and later become rain to help someone that needed life giving water for their gardens, farms or to drink to sustain their own lives.  Some of the water would also be pumped out for irrigation to do the same.  However, some of that water would be used to take life.  Over the course of it’s journey, part of that water would terrify some and part of the water would destroy lives and property.  As I think back on that particular day, I will always have memories of those ripples, but I will never see that exact water as it was in front of me that day.  It’s still on earth somewhere.  No water has ever left our earth’s atmosphere. It has always been here and always will be here.  God placed it and it will remain forever.  The main difference I see between us and the water in the river, is the water follows the course of least resistance and really has no choice of how it reaches it’s final destination to be redistributed.  It was placed there for a purpose.  We are much like a river of water.  We’re always moving, traveling toward our final destination.  Along the way, some of us will be a blessing to others and help them.  Some of us will give them life giving water.  Then we have those of us that will be a hinderance to some and there are a few that will destroy lives and property while on their journey.  For some, our final destination is Heaven and for others it will be hell.  However, we do have a say in the matter.  We are able to make decisions that will affect our future.  We can choose to do right or we can choose to do wrong.  The water I saw that day can never go back to where it was and change it’s course.  Just as we can never go back and change things we did years ago.  However, we can change our future by surrendering to the Lord and allow him to direct our course.  Sometimes it’s better to take the rough course rather than the course of least resistance.  The Bible tells us to choose daily whom we will serve.  I personally had rather be on a rough course with Jesus by my side, than to be on a smooth course all alone.  Let’s choose to make this day the best day of our lives.  Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord, I change not”

Understanding Our Needs

we send this letter to those that have called or written to the Ministry at sometime or other.  The letter is to help keep you informed of the events taking place, as well as to let you know the needs of the Ministry.  Some, seem to get offended thinking that every time they receive a letter we’re asking them for money.  This isn’t true.  We are only letting our needs be known.  “Ye have not, because ye ask not”.  Please understand that, if you are a regular supporter of the Ministry and for one reason or another you quit sending your monthly donation, it has to be replaced.  Our bills continue, each month, whether you’re at home, work or vacation.  Right now, we are asking and trusting God for a financial miracle this month.  We’ve had to do some maintenance work on our buildings and have had to replace several of our heat and air units.  This has been expenses that have hit all at once on top of our regular bills.  We are in need of $50,000.  God can deal with the hearts of people to give and that is what we are trusting Him to do so the Gospel can continue to go out around the world.  We praise the Lord for those of you that do understand and are helping us win souls each month and we pray the Lord will touch the hearts of others and have them share in the rewards we’re laying up in Heaven.

Our Offer This Month

This month we are offering a little booklet entitled, “Where Are My Blessings?” Some of you may already have this book, but it will make a great gift to give to others.  This booklet gives you scriptures showing how your Tithing and Giving are directly tied to your Blessings.  We promise you will learn from this teaching and also will enjoy sharing it with others.  We’re asking each of you to send a love gift, to the Ministry, of $7.00 or more.  this will help us pay for the production, processing and shipping of the booklet.  Your gifts will also help us continue spreading the Word of God throughout the world.  We also accept debit and credit cards. Call now and place your order or to make a donation.  1-800-774-5255
