2021 Volume 30 Issue 18 “Pleasing The Master”

When someone does a kindness it always seems to me,

That’s the way God up in Heaven would like us all to be,

When we bring some pleasure to another human heart,

We have followed in His footsteps and we have had a little part,

In serving Him who loves us, that in serving those around us,

We serve and please Him too.

Helen Steiner Rice

As we speak of pleasing the Master, don’t you know He smiles when we go out of our way to do a good deed to someone in need. If we only open a door to help a person whose hands are full or a person that’s disabled. We don’t have to do something that will make headlines on the news or front page in the paper. It’s the small insignificant things that we do that makes the Lord smile upon us. This Ministry may not be the largest, nor have the most followers, but we feel that God is pleased with us, because we are trying to help those in need. IF we thank the Lord for using us to help others, we will be in God’s will.

 I Corinthians 13:4-8

“Charity suffereth long, and is kind.”

Love is patient and kind.

“Charity envieth not.”

Love is not jealous.

“Charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself umseemly.”

Love does not bragg and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly.

“Charity seeketh not her own, is not easily prevoked, thinketh no evil.”

Love does not seek it’s own, it’s not prevoked, does not take into account wrong suffering.

“Charity rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.”

Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth.

“Charity beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things. We’re talking about God’s, “Agape Love.”

“Charity never faileth.”

When we act out of love, our actions will never fail. God’s love for you will never fail nor cease to exist. God is love and He will fill you with His glory and His Agape Love when you invite Him into your heart.

What A Friend

A friend, is one you can trust with your most secretive thoughts, emotions, problems and cares. A friend, is one that will come to your aide no matter what time of day or night it is. A friend, will drop whatever they’re doing and place your needs above theirs. A friend, will go hungry to see that you have food to eat. A friend, will risk their life and or give it for you at any time. Jesus is the closes friend a person can ever have. He has already proved Himself worthy to be called, “Your Friend.”  He states in John 15:14, “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever i command you.” When we obey Christ’s word, He considers us His friends. What better friend could anyone ask for? He created everything, so we know He can take care of all His friends. His one stipulation is, for us to obey His commands. This is not hard to do, if we practice and study His Word.

Why We Need Jesus

The Bible tells us that we are guilty of sin. Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” The Bible also tells us the price we must pay for our sins, which is eternal separation from God. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” God wants us all to be saved and live with Him. II Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness: but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” Again, God has made provisions for us to escape eternal damnation. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” The Bible teaches, that we can be saved from going to hell and this eternal separation from God, by repenting of our sins and believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9-10, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved, For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Many people are taught that, as long as they do good they will make it into heaven. That’s not what the Bible says. Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not for works, lest any man should boast.” You can’t work your way into heaven, you can’t buy your way into heaven or live a good enough life to get into heaven. John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” He is the only way to heaven and that’s why we need Jesus.
