THE APOSTLE’S AUTOBIOGRAPHY
Born on November 17th, one of 14 children to the late Elder Johnny Lee Barnes Sr. and Missionary Jimmie Lee Barnes.
Debra Ann Barnes was baptized and received the Holy Ghost at an early age, knowing then that the hand of God was upon her life and that she was called and chosen by God to work in the church.
With a passion for souls, Apostle Debra began her training in ministry firstly in the home of her devout parents Elder Johnny Lee Barnes Sr. and Missionary Jimmie Lee Barnes and continued forward in her spiritual foundational journey under the guidance of the late Bishop W.D. Haynes Sr., Christ Temple COGIC, Lubbock, TX., Elder Johnny Evans, Evans Chapel COGIC, Morton, Texas, Apostle Thomas Sawyer Jr. and Pastor/Prophet Linda K. Sawyer (deceased), Grace Christian Fellowship Center, Inc., Lubbock TX., and Senior Pastor John L. Barnes, Jr., at East Point’s Apostolic-Prophetic Ministry, Lubbock Texas.
Always focused on the assignment of the Lord, she makes it a priority that God’s people are equipped with the Word of God. The teaching anointing on her life holds to sound doctrine which draws the mind, heart, soul, and spirit of the people with clarity to the Almighty. Always ensuring that He is the focus and not her. Having a servant’s heart and a humble spirit, Apostle Debra allots time in her busy schedule to reach out to the members of East Point, making herself available to talk, counsel, pray, and encourage them. She is blessed with a spirit of Excellence, Commitment, and Integrity, putting her trust in Him, and giving Him the Glory for fulfilling His purposes and plans in her life.
Creative and talented, her mission is to challenge and provoke God’s people to change, to inspire, and to uncover the strongholds of the enemy within the Body of Christ. Apostle Debra has held several positions within this ministry, from the janitor to the Pastor.
No job for God is too small in her eyes.
Ordained as an Elder 2006, Gods elevating process continued to propel her forward as she was then elevated to the Office of the Prophet in 2010, elevated as a Pastor in 2016, and called to be an Apostle in 2018. Acknowledgement of the Apostolic Mantle was confirmed out of the mouth of three spiritual witnesses in 2019. Today, by Gods divine order we are affirming her elevation.
Destined for the Apostolic succession, God has divinely imparted each of the Five-Fold Ministry Gifts within her anointed vessel for the works He has called her to do in His Service and for His Glory! Apostle Debra is a respected prophetic voice and a master surgeon of the work of God.
Inspired by God and the Holy spirit, Apostle Debra originated and designed three developmental programs for the ministry.
1)Mentor and Leadership Development Course – a twelve-month Bible based curriculum for Christian individuals that have acknowledged they have been called by God.
2)Pastors and Leaders Growth and Development Series – with emphasis on Accountability, Credibility, Effective Communication, Integrity, and the Leaders Role and Responsibility in their secular life and life in the church,
and lastly 3) Acclimate Teaching, Training, Growth and Development Series an in-house program inspired by God for a church in transition.
As the leader in this ministry, her responsibilities are an Overseer, setting structure, managing the affairs of God’s house, and instituting divine order in the lives of His people in the church through the word of God. Apostle Debra embodies the role described in
the scripture written by Paul the Apostle:
“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—
not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to
be not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over
those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock”
