The communications ministry team, consisting of several sub ministries (audiovisual, social media, graphic design, website, newsletter, photographer, etc.), is responsible for enhancing internal communication, raising external awareness, and increasing engagement with existing and prospective members. The team is responsible for ensuring that members and prospective members have access to timely, relevant information that increases participation in church activities. The administrative assistants are coordinators of the communications ministry team.
The audiovisual ministry supports worship services, special events, and activities by providing equipment, personnel and logistics for sound, visuals, and production. A member of the team is expected to be present at every event sponsored by our church where sound and/or visual services are needed.
The Social Media Manager creates a consistent brand voice on all social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram while fostering strong connections between members of the congregation and online communities. The social media manager responds to comments, messages, and inquiries from followers immediately or as soon as possible. He/she collaborates with other church departments to promote events or activities online.
The graphic designer is responsible for creating flyers, banners, brochures, etc. He/she remains abreast of events on the church calendar and is proactive in asking leaders if a flyer is needed.
The website manager regularly updates website content including service times, events, announcements, ministry programs, and other relevant information. He/she The ensures that the website design is current and visually appealing, with clear navigation and easy-to-use features. The website manager monitors website functionality and makes necessary updates to ensure it remains mobile-friendly, fast-loading, secure, and accessible to all users. He/she responds promptly to inquiries received through the website.
The newsletter editor is responsible for planning, organizing, and designing newsletters; gathering content; working with different ministries to ensure that the newsletter accurately represents the church’s activities; ensuring accurate content; and keeping an open line of communication for feedback and suggestions from the congregation. He/she is responsible for ensuring that the newsletter is distributed quarterly by email, in person, or by postal mail.
The church photographer captures high-quality images of church services, events, community outreach programs, and other activities, aiming to visually represent the church’s spirit and values, while being sensitive to image usage and respecting individuals’ privacy when sharing photos.
