The Mountain View Assembly, located in Kingston Jamaica West Indies began in 1976, thus fulfilling a prophecy which came to the church at 20 East Road in the early sixties that there would be another church in Kingston.
The first place of worship was in a temporary building located at 99 Mountain View Avenue where in 1978, eight (8) persons were baptized. Despite the humble setting, the presence of the Lord could be felt as they worshipped. Eight years later, in 1986, the group moved to 95½ Mountain View Avenue (the house of Sister Margaret Rose, who later became a Deaconess).
After a while it was no longer convenient to hold services at that location, so they sought a more suitable place of worship. The present building was then bought and refurbished, and in 1987 it was dedicated to the Lord.
Under the leadership of Deacon Ronald Bent, and supported by Headquarters, the church continues to share the good news of salvation, and souls are being added to the Kingdom of God.
