Assemblies

Manchioneal

The Manchioneal Assembly, in Portland, Jamaica West Indies came into existence after Mr Vivian Mayne saw an advertisement in the Sunday Gleaner of January 19, 1975. This advertisement had been placed based on a revelation from the Lord that the upcoming baptism at 20 East Road on January 26, 1975, should be published in that manner.

As the Lord would have it Mr Mayne under the guidance of the Lord, had sought wherever he could, to purchase the Sunday Gleaner.  Having bought the Gleaner and seeing the advertisement regarding the baptism; he hurried home to show his wife and expressed an interest in attending this baptism.

He then travelled to Kingston the Sabbath afternoon of January 25, 1975, to ask if he could be baptized. Upon his request, he was instructed to return the following Sunday morning; this he did and was subsequently baptized, followed by other members of his household. The Mayne’s family began worshipping at home along with other persons who became interested and would sometimes visit East Road on Sabbaths for worship.

As his zeal for the work grew, Mr Mayne offered to donate a parcel of land to the church for the erection of a church building. Upon its completion the building was dedicated in 1977.

Under the leadership of Pastor Devon Mayne, the church continues to serve the community and prepare souls for the Kingdom of God.

Thanks be to God for all His blessings and His miraculous leading!
