Clover Hill

“Build me a sanctuary that I may meet with My people”. This command was given by God to His servant, Overseer Pastor Hixroy J. Waugh and his wife Sis. M. Waugh in the early stages of their Ministry.

In carrying out this command, a church was built in the district of Clover Hill St Ann, Jamaica, West Indies in the year 1962. This structure is situated on land bought from Mr & Mrs Long.

The first baptism took place the same year at a river in Worthy Park, St Catherine where ten (10) candidates were immersed. This small but vibrant group was led by brethren from Headquarters and later by Deacon Charles O’Connor. During their evangelistic mission, numerous campaigns and house to house visits were made and many, including candidates from the adjoining community of Tydixon, were born for the Kingdom.

In 1978, another fifteen (15) candidates were baptized, including many young persons who took joy in visiting the shut-ins. As time went on, however, many of the members relocated elsewhere. Nevertheless, the church continued under the leadership of Evangelist Stafford Simpson.

The Church is being led by Deaconess A. White and supported by Deacon Winston Perry.

Thanks be to God!
