Pimento Walk

The Pimento Walk Assembly located in St Ann, Jamaica West Indies was established on the invitation of Sister Veda Walsh, a member of the Clover Hill Assembly, who had relocated to the Pimento Walk area. Pastor Harold Peart and his team from the Great Pond Assembly often visited with her and held prayer meetings at her house. As time progressed, it became necessary for further evangelism, so on March 6, 1977, an open-air meeting was held. This meeting was a success, as persons who had a desire to have their souls saved, came for prayer.

The following Sunday night, two of these individuals accompanied Sister Walsh to the Great Pond Assembly, where one of them, Miss Euphemia Blair (who later became Missionary Pearson), became convicted by the Holy Spirit and was later baptised. Thereafter, Worship Services continued in the home of Sister Walsh; these were always stirring and well attended. As the number grew, it became necessary to find a more suitable place for Worship. Through God’s help a place was identified which was rented for the purpose.

As the company of 12 (including brethren from Great Pond), worshipped, the Holy Spirit manifested Himself and spoke through one of His servants, declaring that “upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail – no weapon that is formed shall prosper”. This gave the assurance that He was with them and that it was time for the establishment of the Church in Pimento Walk.

The group continued in prayer and fervent devotion, and the Lord led them to the home of Mr Ralph Corrodas who facilitated them with a temporary place of worship. As the brethren became more committed to the work of the Lord, they saw the need for a permanent place of worship.

A plot of land of identified, and on November 6, 1977, the construction of a permanent structure commenced, which marked a special day for the Believers.  April 21, 1979 was also a very significant day in the life of the Church as they held the first service in the new building.  With much effort the brethren worked towards the expansion of the building which was dedicated in August 2008.

“Through many dangers, toils and snares, we have already come”, were the sentiments expressed by the group of Believers who were very zealous for the work of the Lord.

The church under the Leadership of Pastor Felix Peart and Evangelist Marvin Barrett the church continues to prepare souls for God’s Kingdom.

To God be the glory!
