First and foremost it is God’s desire that the glorious Gospel be preached to all nations and disciples made of men – Matthew 28:19-20
From this “Great Commission”, our vision unfolds; to prepare men, women, boys and girls to effectively witness the Good News of Jesus Christ. This will be implemented by a strong vibrant Christian Education Program: which entails Hosea 4:6 – “My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge
Christian School/Bible College or Seminary/Resource Center/Senior Citizen Housing/Transitional Housing/Business Complex

Mission Statement

In keeping with the mandate of the Great Commission, as uttered by the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:18-20, Greater Mount Calvary Christian Church sets forth as it’s mission to exalt Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. To make disciples by sharing the Gospel with all nations, to educate and edify the Saints by implementing a strong and vibrant Christian Education Program and to elevate society by living exemplary lives before mankind.

Our Pastor

Bishop Donald L. Smith a native of Black Mountain N.C. and younger Son of Lonnie and Louise Smith. Married 53 years to the Former Meredith Dianne Spencer.

Church History

In 1880, Mount Calvary Baptist Church was established by Jennie Serepta Dean, the visionary of yesterday. She received her formal education at Thorntion School in Catharpin, Virginia.
