About Us
Mt. Pisgah Christian Church was birthed out of patience and perseverance in May 2012. Elder Aaron Houston, at the age of twenty-one, had a vision from the Lord to establish a ministry that would not just reach the churchy but the young and forgotten generation. Elder Houston expressed his strong conviction from God to establish this ministry and move forward with a clear vision to Bishop Darryl Evans Sr. Bishop Evans immediately answered Pastor Houston’s call and set up an establishing meeting to birth this new ministry. At that establishment meeting, nine members were present, and they agreed to serve God under the direction of Pastor and Elect Lady Houston. At that time, God strategically put things into place so Mt. Pisgah could worship at Calvary West Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday evenings at 6 pm. While there, the ministry grew, friendships were solidified, and our efforts to build the kingdom continued.
In May 2015, the story shifted when Mt. Pisgah moved to 4025 Seven Hills Drive in Florissant, Mo. Some thought the move was too soon, while others thought it was too late. But when the ‘crowd’ whispering voices ceased, Pastor Houston assured the congregation that we were following the direction of the Holy Spirit, the only voice that matters. The Lord blessed our church at this location. We purchased sound equipment, church Sanctuary chairs, and office furniture. Also, in 2017, the space became too small, and our Pastor led a five-thousand-dollar project to remove the back wall of the sanctuary and open twenty more seats for parishioners to continue to come and enjoy Christ through a solid preached word. We took a short detour, and the enemy tried to distract us, but we withstood the test, and God moved us forward. Many dangers toils and snares we have already come, it’s only God’s Grace that has brought us thus far.
Now we’re here at our current location, 11151 Larimore Road, and although the story of Mt. Pisgah began with just a small group, we’ve grown tremendously. The children of our church faithfully sing and dance for the Lord. The men of this ministry are committed to showing others that it’s okay to love and worship God. The women of the church pray and support each other. And most importantly, we are all learning how to rightly divide the Word of Truth. We’re all growing, developing, and maturing in ways beyond belief. The story of Mt. Pisgah will never end because the church lies within all of us.
